If you’ve read some of my blog posts this week, you know that I like to dabble in a lot of different hobbies and activities. And I like all of them, really. All that being said, however, my favorite and most productive hobby today is crocheting…

I started learning how to crochet back in 5th grade under the watchful eye of my grandmother. Back then I was interested, and I have always liked crocheted and knitted clothes, but I lost interest pretty fast. I mean, crocheting did seem a bit too grandma-ish back then…

Then in the last 2-3 years or so I noticed that knitting became trendy again, although a lot of the stuff I saw on the Internet was either way too expensive or were never imported here. So, I picked up my crochet hooks again, and I found it really, really enjoyable. Maybe it’s because time around I’m not too goal-oriented. Instead of rushing to finish a project so I could show it around, I’ve found how to take pleasure in the process itself. Seeing how, say, my favorite cardigan, slowly takes shape is quite satisfying.

As you can see from the photos I’ve posted above, I prefer natural colors, like beige. I feel that it gives my works a classical and elegant touch. I also prefer making things I can wear instead of decorative items.

Anyway, I try to read as often as I can, I play video games sometimes, and I listen to music when I have the time. But crocheting? Well, let’s just say that if I don’t play with my hooks and threads each night, I don’t sleep easily…
