Fashion on the Web…

Do I like fashion? Of course. Now, while I do occasionally buy a copy of Cosmo, InStyle, or Bazaar, I get most of my fashion news and updates from the Web.

One of my current favorites is Promod’s official website, mainly because I happen to like ethnic, boho, and natural styles, which the site seems to have heaps of. For random browsing, I usually go to ChicTopia, Pinterest, or even Google Images and throw in keywords for whatever happens to interest me at the moment.

But my main source of fashion info, however, is a couple of independent blogs. Basically, I like to look up blogs for just about anything I’m interested in, and then follow the ones I particularly like. For fashion, there are two excellent blogs I’ve been reading for months: Daisybutter and Briar Rose. I really enjoy how each post they put up tells a whole story instead just being captions for the photos they put up. The overall tone and feel of both blogs are also superb.

More importantly, though, these two award-winning blogs are written by a couple of young ladies who really, really fit the ‘I Depend on Me!’ identity: bright, beautiful, and capable women who’ve successfully made their mark through their own hard work. Both are in their twenties, with a passion for writing, fashion (what else?), and food, as well as a penchant for hard work. And unlike quite a few big names in the fashion blogosphere, both Michelle (Daisybutter) and Megan (Briar Rose) came from humble beginnings and fought their way to the top. Respect.
