My precious…

comment(s)

In my last post, I mentioned how I love long, flowing clothing, right? So, I was pretty excited when the so-called ‘kimono cardigans’ started showing up, since not only were these extra-long and flowing, they also had these beautiful wide sleeves. Most of the kimono cardigans I found on sale, however, were made using printed fabric—not exactly my style. But then I saw several crocheted kimono cardigans on the Web, and thought to myself, ‘Why don’t I just make one myself?’

And so I did. What you see in the pictures above is the end result, after more than half a year of hard work. Yup, it took me more than six months—but it was worth it.

Being such a truly unique piece, my homemade cardigan has often attracted quite a bit of attention. The best however, was about two-three months ago. I was wearing it while browsing in a knitwear shop, when I suddenly noticed a group of other ladies queuing up behind me. Apparently they thought I was trying out the cardigan, and they were hoping I didn’t buy it since they’ve been setting their eye on it ever since they entered the shop! Now that’s a compliment…
