Kicking the habit…


Smoking is bad for you. That’s pretty much common knowledge. And I guess we don’t need yet another post about the dangers of smoking, the benefits of quitting, and so on, right? However, quitting, or helping somebody else quit smoking, isn’t exactly easy. There are of course drugs that can help, but that’s not an option for everybody. So, more often than not, we need to rely on more mundane things… things like:

1. Weight gain. Now, some people have trouble with quitting because of the widespread believe that it would mean gaining weight. Well, have no fear, since kicking the smoking habit won’t make you gain weight over the long term. Yes, some first time quitters might gain one or two kilos, but those are only temporary.

2. Changing your daily routine can also help increase the odds of making a decision to quit stick.

3. Finally, there are foods and drinks that make cigarettes taste better, and there are those that make cigarettes taste worse. So, to make quitting easier, eat more vegetables and less meat, drink more milk and less coffee.
