Sometimes, everyday items that we find lying around the house are surprisingly useful to treat minor everyday ailments. We’ve already looked at duct tape to remove warts and clear nail polish to treat insect bites, but of course there’s plenty more. For example, to treat:

Hiccups: just swallow a teaspoon of sugar.

Bad breath: a cup of yogurt will do the trick.

Blisters: dab it with a cotton ball moistened with Listerine.

Motion sickness: a slice of lemon or a couple of olives. They help dry out your mouth and alleviate the nausea.

Stained teeth: eat apples; the gentle malic acid contained in apples can dissolve stains.

Cuts: a sprinkle of powdered cloves can keep it from getting infected.

Fatigue: chew on some peppermint or cinnamon flavored gum.
