Coffee vs. bananas…


Maybe you’ve just had to pull a string of all-nighters and ended up drinking several gallons of coffee… or maybe you simply like coffee too much. Anyway, you’ve suddenly came face to face with the effects of too much caffeine: rapid heart rate, difficulty sleeping, headaches, and so on. So, how can you cure this caffeine overload? Simple… eat a banana.

Actually, there are several recommended ways to deal with too much caffeine in your system: drink lots of water, walk it off, and eat a hearty meal. However, a banana or two tops all of those. See, caffeine can throw your body’s electrolytes out of balance, including calcium and potassium. What’s more, your blood sugar levels might also be affected.

Bananas are a great source of calcium and potassium, so that tackles the first part of the problem. But bananas are also loaded with carbohydrates, so eating one will help keep your blood sugar on a more even level.

So, there you have it. Too much coffee? Eat a banana…
