Booking on the Web…

comment(s)

While I was planning for this holiday of mine, I seriously considered asking for help from two of my college friends who now work for travel agencies. (Actually, one of them owns her own bureau.) That way, I thought, I could simply sit back, relax, and have somebody else worry about looking for plane tickets, hotel bookings, transport, etc…

However, I ended up using what a lot of modern travellers now rely on: the Internet. And I’m glad I did…

First of all, I bought plane tickets online (including for the flight home), checked in online (two weeks before my flight), then printed my boarding pass at home. Surprisingly, when I went to the airport, I saw a lot of people carrying self-printed tickets and boarding passes. (Or maybe I’ve just haven’t been to an airport for too long...) Anyway, it was really convenient…

But my biggest surprise, however, came when I tried booking my hotel room online. Instead of going directly to the hotel’s website, I went to one of those online booking websites—Agoda, in this case—and with a few clicks (and a bit of typing) I had my hotel voucher ready to print. Easy, convenient, and I found a nice 50% discount for my entire stay… ^^

So, I can see now why people who love to travel make it a habit to hunt for price cuts online…
