Every time I hear somebody saying that they’re work from home, there’s a guaranteed torrent of responses along the lines of, “Oh, I wish I could do that too… but I’m stuck in a darn office job.” Yes, there are quite a few disadvantages of working from an office, but the plus points aren’t to be taken lightly as well…

So, let’s make a list, shall we?

Minus points of office life:
- Commuting…
- A fixed working schedule that is strictly enforced…
- Angry bosses, incompetent colleagues, and forgetful coworkers (not all of them, of course, but there will be at least one or two of them when you work in a large enough office.)
- Office politics and fierce rivalry…

On the other hand, office life does have its perks, including:
+ An ideal space to actually work (if you can ignore the distractions).
+ An ideal environment to foster discipline (again: if you can ignore the distractions).
+ Facilities like air conditioning, high-speed Internet access, photocopiers, printers, etc. which can make working a lot easier (and which you can’t conveniently provide on your own should you work at home).
+ Inspiring bosses, awesome colleagues, and supportive coworkers (not all of them, of course, but there will be plenty of them in just about any office.)
