Wedding Insurance

Weddings are expensive. Weddings are also complex. So, oftentimes things go wrong, and when something goes wrong, it will cost quite a bit. That’s why—at least overseas—wedding insurance is becoming as common as wedding cakes…

Put simply “wedding insurance” is meant to protect the purchaser from a wide range of unfortunate events that could mar a wedding. So, your wedding might not go as planned, but at least you’ll get your money back…

A typical wedding insurance policy would cover cancellations (could be due to extreme weather, natural disasters, or simply a change of heart) and—which is the usual case—failure by vendors to supply their wares or services, or when stuff gets damaged. This includes attire, catering, documentation (photos and video), rings, the cake, gifts for the guests, and so on.

Again, this particular service hasn’t really caught on here… but with the increasing complexity of weddings nowadays the basic idea of having a bit of extra financial protection doesn’t sound too bad, right? Yes, the premiums can be a bit unfriendly to a bride-to-be on a budget, but the possible savings might just be worth it…
