Eyebrows are perhaps one of the most defining facial features we have. Some people prefer to let them be as they are, and that’s perfectly fine. Others, however, prefer to make sure that they look their absolute best. Unfortunately, there are a lot of common mistakes when it comes to tinkering with our eyebrows. So, let’s take a look at the things we shouldn’t be doing...
1. Plucking too much from the space between brows.
See, when there’s a large empty space between your eyes, it ends up making your nose look bigger and the eyes appear too far apart. As a rule of thumb, the inner corner of the brows should not go beyond the bridge of the nose.
2. Old tweezers.
When hairs are starting to slip through your tweezers and it becomes hard to grasp anything, it’s time to invest in a new pair. Sounds a bit obvious, right? Well, you’d be surprised at how many people opt to continue struggling with their old ones for as long as possible...
3. Plucking every day.
Yes, it somehow feels quite satisfying... but experts caution against doing so. The recommended frequency? Oh, about once every three weeks.
4. Ignoring the top of the brows.
It is common knowledge that plucking below the brow can create a nice lifting effect... but what’s often forgotten is that stray hairs above the brow line can be far more noticeable.
5. Using the eyebrow pencil wrong.
Eyebrow pencils are not meant to draw your brows, but to create a shadow effect. Pick a pencil that’s a shade lighter than your brow (too dark, and it will look fake), then use light strokes to shade in patchy areas.
