Leggings are perhaps one of the most divisive fashion item. You either love it, or hate it... there is no middle ground. Or is there? Well, let’s put it this way: when worn the right way, a pair of leggings can look decent, and even feel like a normal pair of pants. While there’s plenty to be debated about “the right way” of wearing leggings, there are some universal tips for just about everybody...

Thick leggings...
The kind of leggings made from thin material are usually meant for exercising. But if you’re not going to sweat it out at the gym, you might want to opt for thicker leggings. And fear not, nowadays, more and more brands are producing high-quality leggings from thicker fabrics.

Long tops...
The number one principle that any leggings aficionado needs to follow in order to avoid any... uh... embarrassing wardrobe malfunctions. If an oversized t-shirt is not your thing, there are plenty of alternatives including mini dresses, and maybe a nice jacket or blazer to complete the look.

Prints and patterns...
Leggings made from printed fabrics can be quite eye-catching...  in a good way. Just be careful of what kind of patterns you use, and always look for tops that complement those patterns.

Heels...
Leggings tend to lean heavily towards the casual side of fashion. So, you need something that can balance it out and make you look sassy, and high heels (either stilettos or chunky heels) are the perfect choice.
