When it comes to looking glamorous and lively, nothing can really top a touch of bright color on your lips. And that’s why lipstick will always be one of the most popular beauty products. But perhaps, you’ve heard about the possible health risks associated with lipstick. Or maybe you just want to be a bit extra creative. Either way, there are actually quite a few alternatives to lipstick we can try for beautiful, colorful lips...

Food coloring...
Well, they’re safe, for one thing. Just put 3 to 5 drops in a small container, and use cotton buds to apply the color to your lips. For this one, however, you will need to move fast, as food coloring tends to dry out rather fast.

Eye shadow pigment...
Mix it with a bit of Vaseline, then dab it on your lips. This is perfect for eye shadow pigment that looks a bit too bold for your eyes.

Crayons...
Yes, crayons... the thing kindergarteners use to draw. Obviously, you will need to pick ones that are clearly labeled “non-toxic”.  Now, the basic principle is quite simple: You need to melt the crayons with Vaseline or coconut oil (these are the two most widely used, but there are other types of oil you can also try). If you really want to try this one out, there are plenty of detailed tutorials on the Web (such as this video on YouTube or this article).

Happy experimenting!
