Yes, ripped jeans are becoming popular once more... but it’s not exactly the kind of outfit that can help you look polished and posh, no? Well, while ripped jeans are definitely a big no-no at the office or formal occasions, they can work great as part of a cool and chic casual outfit. And once again, it all boils down to how—and with what—you wear them...

First and foremost, ripped jeans are slouchy, right? So, don’t pair them up with something that’s also slouchy, and instead pick something a lot more polished for a better overall look. The most obvious way to achieve this is to wear a dressy top. A silk blouse, perhaps, or maybe a printed button-up shirt.

Another alternative is to wear a blazer. This still doesn’t mean that you can wear ripped jeans to work, but it sure gives your outfit a more polished vibe and makes your choice of jeans more of a fashion statement instead of a rebellious gesture.

Want something more casual than a blazer but just as cool? Try a leather jacket, which combines a cool and edgy vibe with a bit of luxury.

And finally, since we’re already wearing something that’s so rough and rugged, anyway, why not go for something that’s entirely casual? Say, a graphic shirt (or a plain white t-shirt) and a pair of sneakers to go with your ripped jeans. That would work quite well, no?
