The weight of a diamond is measured in carats... we all know that, right? But have you ever wondered how big a, say, one carat diamond actually is? Or maybe what a 0.5 carat diamond would look like? Or how would a one carat Princess cut diamond look like compared to a one carat Round Brilliant diamond? Of course, the best way to discover the answer to any of these questions is going to a jeweler’s boutique and seeing for yourself... but in the meantime, we might have something to help you get a rough idea of how big a carat actually is...

Please bear in mind that this is just an approximation, and that actual size (and relative size between diamond and hand) will vary from individual to individual, and between different individual stones.
