Nail problems are often the most overlooked kind of health/beauty problems we face, as well as being the most misunderstood... which is perhaps why we often get so annoyed when we’re dealing with brittle, yellowing, or bendy nails. But, of course, for every nail issue we might have, there’s actually a handy solution. Below, you’ll find some of the most important ones...

Strong but flaky nails...
More often than not, this condition (where the nail feels strong but also dry) is caused by a lack of hydration and nutrition. So, don’t go for nail hardener products (which a lot of people immediately pick when faced with flaky nails) and use a serum that contains (among others) urea, calcium, and vitamin B5.

Weak, bendy, and flaking nails...
Now, for this one, you do need nail hardener. However, only apply the product one or (at most) twice a week.

Slow growth...
Nails that never seem to grow are usually caused by circulation problems in your hands—which is a whole different story. For the nails themselves, though, there are quite a few specialized oils that you can use, which contain proteins and vitamins that can stimulate growth.

Yellowing nails...
For this one, simply rub your nails with a mixture of lemon juice, some sugar, and a bit of olive oil. There are commercial products that can achieve the same result, but this homemade remedy works just fine.

Nails that break easily...
This is yet another problem that causes a lot of people to go straight for nail hardeners—which might actually might make the problem worse. And just like problem number one up there, what we need is specialized nail treatment products that can hydrate and promote flexibility... usually in the form of serums containing the abovementioned ingredients.
